After Builders Cleaning FAQs
When should I book — the day the trades finish?
Ideally 24–48 hours after the last trade leaves. Fine construction dust keeps settling out of the air for a day or two, so cleaning too early means dust reappears on freshly wiped surfaces. If your handover date is fixed, book us as the very last visitor before the keys.
Will dust really be gone after one visit?
We remove everything that has settled, using HEPA vacuums that trap fine plaster dust rather than blowing it around. A small amount of residual airborne dust can still settle over the following days — that's physics, not a missed clean. Many whole-home reno customers book a short follow-up clean a week later, and we'll price that honestly.
Do you remove paint spots, plaster splashes and stickers?
Sticker and label residue on glass, appliances and fittings is included as standard. Paint and plaster spot removal is an add-on ($50) because it's slow, careful scraper work. We won't use blades on delicate or coated surfaces — anything we judge risky to remove, we'll show you and explain rather than damage the finish.
Can you take away rubbish and offcuts?
Our clean covers dust, debris vacuuming and surface cleaning. Builder's rubbish — offcuts, packaging, paint tins — needs separate removal. Select the Rubbish Removal Quote add-on and we'll price it on site, or ask your builder to include waste removal in their contract.
